Its almost October. And it's still hot in Austin. But I ain't complaining! Finally we got some rain today. Love that smell. Wet earth. Every morning I take a walk by Lady Bird Lake. I love doing that. It sets the mood for the day.
Last Friday I played a show at Guero's. I luv that venue. Have seen so many shows there.  I was a guest of Bob Fuentes & Los Flames. Great musicians!! Including Steve Doerr and Grady Pinkerton from The LeRoi Brothers!
I love the sense of community that I get here in Austin. People are very friendly, and the musicians are really supportive of each other. It's like a big music family. I'm glad I took part in the 'Musicians for Musicians Benefit', for those who lost their homes during the raging wild fires here in Central Texas 2 weeks ago.
New home means new band! I'm looking forward to playing my music with my friends here in Austin. There are so many great musicians!
Have been doing a lot of soul searching lately. A lot of writing, in general. Yes. It includes new songs. Good or bad. As the masters say, keep writing, no matter what. Sometimes I wish I didn't 'have' to write. But it keeps calling my name....
